College Version
A structured student accountability and behavior documentation system designed for college housing and residence life.
The College Version helps housing administrators, resident assistants, and students maintain clear expectations, consistent documentation, timely communication, and appropriate administrative follow-through.
General Overview
Housing-Led, Staff-Implemented, Student-Focused
Housing staff and resident assistants document student behavior and housing concerns within a structured system while housing administrators oversee escalation, review documentation, and determine the appropriate response.
The system creates a documented record of incidents, notifications, responses, and administrative actions so expectations are clear and students are treated fair and consistently.
Designed for Residence Life
The College Version is designed to support common housing concerns, including:
- Quiet-hour violations
- Visitation violations
- Unauthorized guests
- Room and hallway cleanliness concerns
- Prohibited items
- Failure to follow housing directives
- Repeated disruptive behavior
- Residence hall policy violations
- Other documented housing concerns
Student Notification
Students can receive timely electronic notification when a documented housing concern or violation is entered into the system.
This provides the student with notice of the concern and creates a consistent communication trail between the student and Housing.
Students may also be given an opportunity to provide information or respond to the documented concern when appropriate.
Documentation Standard: Housing staff should document what they observe and allow the system and established housing procedures to support the follow-through. Consistent documentation helps reduce disputes and strengthens administrative decision-making.
Resident Assistant Accountability
Resident Assistants play an important role in maintaining the residential community. The Ticket Program provides a structured method for documenting concerns without requiring RAs to independently determine every consequence.
Housing administrators can review staff activity, identify patterns, monitor follow-through, and address inconsistent implementation when needed.
Administrative Follow-Through
When student behavior reaches an established escalation level, Housing administrators can review the documentation and determine the appropriate action.
Depending on college policy, actions may include:
- Student warning
- Housing conference
- Loss or restriction of housing privileges
- Visitation restrictions
- Administrative housing action
- Referral to Student Affairs
- Referral to Campus Safety when appropriate
Consistency and Documentation
The College Version is designed to establish a consistent documentation process across residence halls, floors, housing staff, and Resident Assistants.
Instead of relying solely on verbal reports or individual recollection, Housing can maintain a documented history of student behavior and administrative responses.
Pre-Implementation Review
Before implementation, the Housing Director, Housing Manager, Residence Life Administrator, or other authorized college representative completes a pre-implementation survey.
The survey helps determine the institution's current housing procedures, administrative structure, documentation practices, and readiness to implement The Ticket Program.
